2012 : The statements.

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time.  I've had some personal defeats to work through and between that and trying to start a new life in a new city,  its left little time to blog!
I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and new year all the same!

I thought I'd put together three fashion ideas that made a huge impact in 2012
as far as my wardrobe goes!  I'd love to hear three key items that made your year too. :)

3. Crosses

I can't atually believe that this is all the items I can cook up after a year full of crosses!
I'll admit, I could have drowned myself in cross necklaces at some point in 2012, but as always ( much like everyone) I lost nearly all of them.
Have you ever seen more of a hipster symbol?  Naahhh....
2000 and 12 was definately the year of the Hipster. Ahem.

2. Studs

There was actually a point where I would stick studs on literaly everything.
I'm sure you will agree if you live in the UK.  Even River Island provided us with easy stick on studs you could attach to anything! So yes, big studs, small studs, all kinds of studs everywhere please.
I'm actually surprised the trend has lasted so long.
I wonder when studs will become old news?

1. Sweaters

TA-DAH!
I'm sure you're hardly surprised. If you've followed me for enough time, you'll know how obsessed I can be with knitwear and sweaters. This picture isn't even a snippet of what my sweater collecetion is actually like! I LOOOOVE JUMPERS :_)
I could cry. I could actually cry.
It's the only reason why I want winter to stay!
This is one of my favourites. Not only because it's an obvious sweater, but because it's tie dye too - another trend that made a comeback in 2012! I did go a little silly with tie dye. I hope it is here to stay for 2013 :)

I would love to hear what your top three are for 2012!
I also have a give away coming up shortly so keep watching! :)
All follows will be followed back!
Have a nice day :)

Peppermint Sweater

Do you guys remember when Lana Del Ray helped us (H&M) with a campaign at the beginning of winter? It was a great campaign and lots of the garments she wore in the shoots sold out within days at our store. However, there are a few items left that have no been added into the sale!
And it's a huge sale too, so if you're out and about and happen to cross us, come inside!

Most items have been discounted and if you're a big fan of sweaters and trousers, you'll definately find something for you! We recently has a trouser campaign so we're not short of them if it's what you're looking for!

SWEATER H&M £29.99 £15.
ACID WASH JEANS £14.99 £7

The Outfit

Keeping to a pastel acid feel, I decided to team this sweater and jeans
with comfy Adidas trainers to tone down the look. What shoes would you team it with?

A shoot; pt Two

So here are a few more shots from the other day with Ed Firminger.
Seems like we were glamourising smoking but we were looking for the effect the smoke can make more than anything.

SWEATER H&M

H&M Christmas Outfit.

Working at H&M means I get to spot little bargains and work with outfits long before the actual event.
I've picked this outfit out throughout the last few weeks for tonight Christmas Party. I wanted something that wasn't too flashy and something that definitely wasn't too sparkley. I can see it now, a little less than 18 or so girls, dressed head to toe in sequins for the festive event.
Not really me. I'd like to dress so I can look someone in the face without looking like a shining Christmas decoration.
I went with a colour I thought made a huge impact this year. That being maroon. The skirt itself is a beautiful texture and the style dates back to something out of the 50's. ( I just need a lovely boy to swing me over his shoulder and I can really show it off).
In fear that I may have put a plain outfit together, H&M have some new statement jewelry in store and I have chosen an ice stud and sparkle piece. (Excuse me for such a terrible picture!) This is a fierce and alternative piece to team with an elegant skirt.
The shoes arnt from H&M but from Missguided, my other fashion love. The wooden heel adds contrast and height ( I'm 5'2, I need it!) and I just think it goes well and compliments the maroon. I'm aware this outfit defeats the Christmas spirit, what with all the sparkle and stuff, but I was looking for an outfit that is timeless and can wear again and again!

I'll be posting LookBook photos of this outfit soon, come back! H&M NECKLACE £9.99 TOP £6.99 SKIRT £12.99 SHOES £35

Made in Chelsea

So for any British bloggers out there, you've probably heard of the reality show Made In Chelsea.
Well last night we met the very adorable Francis who I LOVE so much. The terrible thing being, is that I probably shouldn't have drunk so much that I can't remember what I actually said to him. I do remember giving him a big kiss though.....

Middle December

Hey guys :)
So its middle December, nearly Christmas time and for once I'm probably more excited about it than New Year.
I'll admit, I'm abit of a scrooge when it comes to the festive season! Probably because when you work in retail you have ghastly over played Christmas songs thrown at you from November onwards.
So tomorrow I have a shoot with Edwin Firminger. I'll share them with you tomorrow night!
Trying to blog on a phone is hellish. I'd like to link you to his site but it won't let me! But yeah, excuse the layout and I'll be back tomorrow! Btw, thanks for all the help and the follows! It's much appreciated!

Return of the Rucksack

So I was delighted to find that the rucksack has made a perfectly
brilliant return to fashion this season. I've always been a sucker for a good rucksack so I wasobviously thrilled at the news!
The rucksack has always been around for me.
Back in high school when Mum got me the biggest rucksack to carry, despite how small I was.
I always remember looking around the playground and seeing other children my age, just starting out, with the biggest ruck you'd ever seen, filled with stuff you'd never use. A small gesture from your mum,
who was proud of the little big person you've grown up to be.

And then there was college.
Back in the time of rebelious music and fashion statements that I look back at through my shameful hands. I'd cover it with whatever I could. Badges, favourite bands, grafetti and lyrics.
It was all about being a non conformist, when really looking back, we were all the same.

Which brings me to 2012.
I still love to wear things too big and I still love the odd scribble on a piece.
But this time it's a little maturer.
I too love dainty things. I'm not forcing myself into one style, like back in college.
I embrace all of it.

This is my first rucksack since then.
Primark - £12.
Small price, another era.

Christmas jumper!

Heres a sneaky peek of my Christmas Jumper!
Was too excited about it before I had chance to do a proper shoot.
I'll be posting about it very soon along with where it's from and how much.
Litte clue - it's in the picture!

Just before Summer

Thought I'd share with you some shots that Edd Firminger did of me in the early summer.
We do a few every now and then together and it's always a great experience.
If you want to check him out you can find him here:

I'm no longer blonde. Tbh when I look back at this set, it kinda makes me miss it.
But alas, I am a brunette through and through.
I never felt quiet myself with blonde locks.
I suppose it's in every girls nature to experiment with hair and it was just clear I was a dark'n.
At least I got a nice set before I got rid!

I have more sets to upload and you can find more on Ed's site!
Enjoy!

How long does Benefit Make up last?

So back In June, I became part of the Benefit family when I bought a few products.
These were:
Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow
and
Boi-ing Benefit Concealer

Now for anyone who has bought Benefit when on a low income, it can burst a nice big beautiful hole in your pocket. At around £25 for each, it can be a bit more expensive that your normal products.
This then makes you weary not to use it all straight away. So I did what any girl would do and tried to use it for important events only. Which tbh, weren't many.
So then I decided, ok, you can maybe go a little easier on yourself. What about every other day?
And then, I stopped caring and just went for it, ha.

So here are mine.:

So these were bought in June. It's now December and I have a little less than half from the foundation. The concealer is a little less, but for your money, I wasn't sure how much you got as the packaging can be deceaving. To say I've been using them religiously for a few months, it's not that bad at all!
I'm not a fan of caking myself in make up though, that has to be said.
And there have been various Rimmel Foundations making an appearance throughout the months.

I do believe that you have a skin type. And that skin type doesn't define you. Every other day I have a different skin type, not just one. I suffer from excema, so for one day I need something for dry, sensitive skin and on other days when I'm not so bad, I just need something that covers.
So I do range from one to another, which also needs to be taken into account.

This concealer is AMAZING. I was told by the Benefit sales assistant that applying concealer first is always good, then your foundation, and then a second coat of concealer on top.
I follow this pretty much everytime I use Boi-ing and it's only now starting to wear away.
When buying this, I thought the packaging was a little deeper. You can never tell how much you're actually getting. Unfortunately, you get a few layers of this before you hit the bottom.

I would buy this again, but I might need to wait for a few pay days.
I'm currently using Rimmel, alongside Benefit. As a product they are AMAZING value. They are brilliant and do exactly what they say, whilst maintaining a fun and vibrant look.
Three cheers for Benefit ;) x

Garnier BB Miracle Skin Perfector

Ok, so I've been looking for a while for something that will sort my face out.. Haven't we all?
Now, television, magazines and every beauty editor has been going on about BB Creams.
Which one is the best, does it work and what not?
Well, tbh, I'm skint. And this is the only one I can afford. Just under £8, I've had it for a few days and I thought I'd share what I think.
Which tbh, isn't alot because it does exactly what it says on the tin.

When buying, I was told to use it as a primer.
Adding before you add your make up apparently is the best thing.
I'm not sure what everyone else has been told.
I have wars with freckles and tired eyes. And I lose, ALL the time.
I noticed Garnier doesn't exactly cover up everything you'd like but it's not claiming to be a radical new foundation. It does however, make your skin feel GORGEOUS and gives it a lovely glow.

I thought I'd share with you something that they included on the box.
When companies spout about testing with real customers and coming up with some percentage that you're supposed to go 'ohhhh, that's good!'. Well, Garnier have kind of done it in the ' BB Cream for dummies' kind of root. Which I enjoy. Gladly.
And although 63 subjects isn't alot to be testing something thats worldwide, I think it's a good result and something great to share with a consumer. Let's face it, it was enough for me to buy it.
Plus I don't know 63 people. So if Garnier do, it must be good.

This BB Cream was voted 4th in Vogues best BB Creams.
You can read that here:

Galaxy Sweater from She Inside

Love Love LOVE.
First purchase made from She Inside and it's quickly becoming my new obsession.
Regardless of the fact that they are based all the way over in America, everyone who is over the pond with me, you'll be glad to hear it's free postage! Which is truly a godsend when it comes to long distance delivery. It also tackles that annoying little issue with converting dollars into pounds so there is no confusing maths involved. Ahem.
Not a strong point.
But yes. I'm a short arse so ordering a size too big might have been a slight mistake as it's very easy to make me look podgy. I need to get out of that habbit and start ordering things to fit and not to be baggy.

Anyway, GET THIS SWEATER. Warm, awesome and erm, awesome!

Galaxy and platforms.

I've been abit of a busy buyer this last past week!

Galaxy Sweater from She Inside- £25
Camo Jacket from Topshop - £48
Wooden Platforms from Missguided - £35
Studded vest top from Miss Selfridge - £40
Salt Spray from Asda - £2

Orange candle!

Had a shot at making a candle out
of an orange today. How exciting is my life, seriously?
Honestly though, its a nice little trick and
it looks so cute when its done.

First, peel into two halves, keeping the stem
attached to one. This acts like a natural wick.
Add some olive oil to the base
and soak the 'wick' for a few moments.

Cut a hole onto the top peel so that when you light the candle, the flame has somewhere to go.
Light with a lighter, put top peel back on top and there you go!

A lovely Orange candle that looks and smells awesome!
( I was so good at this that I didn't even use a proper candle!...ahem)
Little tip. False nails probably isn't a great shout.
